To All UME Parents and UME Community Stakeholders:
Uinta Meadows is continuing our early identification program this year. We are trying to get all UME Kindergarten students for the 2018-2019 school year identified early. “Kindergarten Getting to Know You Night #1” is scheduled on January 25th from 6:00-7:00pm. We will bring all of next year’s Kindergarten students and their parents together to introduce them to our staff and let parents know what they can be doing to prepare their child for Kindergarten. We will meet again for “Kindergarten Getting to Know You Night #2” on May 3rd from 6:00-7:00pm. Our Kindergarten Registration will take place on Friday, February 23rd. More information about Kindergarten Registration will follow. All of these meetings will take place at UME.
We have found that when Kindergarten students are prepared with prerequisite skills they are much more successful in school. We are hopeful that with this early identification program we can help students and parents be better prepared to begin kindergarten.
All children planning to attend Kindergarten this fall must:
∙ be five years old on or before September 15, 2018.
∙ bring a birth certificate or proof of birth to Kindergarten Registration.
∙ bring an official record of current immunizations.
∙ make an appointment to attend Kindergarten Registration with your child on Friday, February 23, 2018.
We are also asking neighbors and friends to let us know of any students who will be kindergarten eligible next year. Often the parents who need the most support are not contacted.
We are asking that any parents of students as well as other stakeholders who know of families with children that are five years old to call the school and give us your contact information. Please help us get our most precious little learners off to the right start!
Thank you for your help,
Principal, Jerrod Dastrup
