Saying Goodbye to UME

March 2, 2022

UME Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I am resigning my position as the Principal of Uinta Meadows Elementary School at the end of the 2021-22 school year. I have accepted a position as the Principal of Snow Canyon Middle School in Washington County School District (Saint George, UT).

The most difficult part of this decision is that I can’t take UME with me. I’m not leaving due to frustration, needing a change, or job satisfaction. I’m not running away from anything (other than the cold) and I’m not leaving on bad terms. It’s completely the opposite of all those things. Those are all reasons I would stay. In short, we wanted to raise our family in warmer weather.

I have been blessed to be the Principal of UME for seven years. I have grown in my career more than I could have imagined alongside the students, staff and families of UME. I came into this position at 32 years of age and with just three years of principal experience. Nicole and I didn’t have any of our children at that time. We now have four beautiful children who love UME. We have grown up as a family here.  I was blessed to have been given the opportunity to lead this amazing school. I have appreciated your support and our relationships. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for allowing me to lead UME. I will finish this school year strong and do everything in my power to ensure the staff and students of UME are fully prepared for next school year.

I love and appreciate my UME Eagle family of students, parents and teachers.

Always and Forever…..Go Eagles!!!
