New Teachers to the UME Family
Let's welcome our new teachers to the UME family! Here they are!
Well, hello there! My name is Paula Bennington and I am stoked to join the UME team as a 2nd grade teacher! I had the pleasure of teaching 1st grade over at Aspen and I am now trading my tiger stripes for wings and talons. This is an exciting move for me as I attended UME, as a child! Before I began this journey as a teacher in the district, I worked with infants, toddlers, then for 12 years I taught preschool. I also had a great experience teaching adults along the way. I cannot wait to dive into 2nd grade!
My husband is a retired mechanic (due to disability) and now a stay at home dad and he rocks it! I could not enjoy working with all the wonderful students in my life if I did not have him running the show at home. Believe me when I say show! I have an awesome 10 year old, Jonnali, who most of you may know! She is the second mama in the house, as I have Lincoln who is 4, Everly who is 3, and Gibson who is 1. Also, a cat named Dolly, yes after Dolly Parton! We are a very busy family, we all love to dance, read, and of course make-up silly things to celebrate daily!
Hello! My name is Bailey Heide. I am SO excited to be teaching fourth grade this year at UME. This will be my fifth year teaching fourth grade, but this will be my first year in Evanston. I grew up in Evanston and I am really excited to come back home. I graduated from the University of Wyoming. GO POKES!
My husband, Alex, recently became a police officer with the Evanston Police Department. We have one Australian shepherd named Molly who loves to play chase and fetch. We love fly fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, ranching.....anything outside!
Hello UME! My name is Mistie Ecklund and I am beyond excited to be joining the UME family as a member of the first grade team next school year. I have spent the majority of my career as an interventionist in and around Cody, Wyoming. My husband’s job took us to Oklahoma, where I have spent the past two years teaching and falling in love with 1st grade!
My husband and I have 2 grown children and 3 fur babies. We love spending time outdoors skiing, snowshoeing, and camping. I am so thrilled to be moving back to Wyoming and to become part of the UME team. Can’t wait to meet you all in the fall!
Hello everyone! My name is Sidney Ward and I am so excited to be joining the UME family as one of the 2nd grade teachers!! This will be my first-year teaching, however I have so much to offer and so much excitement to grow as an educator. I look forward to meeting and growing relationships with each and every one of you as educators, peers and friends.
I grew up in a military family and had the opportunity to move around to many different places such as, Puerto Rico, South Korea, and Germany. That being said I have been in many different school settings and knew becoming an educator is what I wanted to do! I moved to Wyoming in 2014 when I began college and received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have grown to love the state over the years and consider it home. I cannot contain my excitement for this new adventure and can’t wait to make the move from Laramie to Evanston with my cat Shadow!
See you all so soon!:)
Hello! I’m Marena Zeller and I am thrilled to be joining Uinta Meadows Elementary! I am fortunate to be joining the 5th grade team, where we will be learning and growing every day. I think 5th graders are amazing, so I know that we will have a fantastic year full of new experiences and we will grow together as a class community and team. I can’t wait to meet all my students and their families this Fall!
I am originally from Gillette, Wyoming and recently graduated from the University of Wyoming… GO POKES! During my time at the University of Wyoming, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, as well as a minor in Literacy Education. I appreciate reading and enjoy teaching math. Aside from school, I love playing with my dog, Kona, and being outside. Once again, I am so excited to be joining the UME family!
