Hello! My name is Myckenzie Downs and I will be joining the 1st grade team this year! This is my very first year teaching and I am so eager to begin the journey! I graduated in May from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Early Childhood Education.
I am from Laramie, Wyoming and just moved to Evanston this month. Although it is a big change, it seems like such a wonderful community and I’m excited to be here! In my free time I love camping, snowmobiling, playing Yahtzee, watching the Minnesota Vikings with my family and spending time with my puppy Milo.
I look forward to working with the UME team this year!
My name is Katie Gomez, and I will be on the 5th grade team this coming school year. I will be starting my fourth year of teaching. My first two years of teaching I taught 5th grade at Farr West Elementary in the North Ogden area. Last year, I taught 4th grade part-time at Aspen Elementary. I received my degree at Weber State University where I also met my husband.
My husband is Colby Gomez and he works at the hospital as a physical therapist. Colby is a local Evanston boy, and I am mostly from Utah. We have no children, but have a pug puppy named Dexter. We just moved into our first home at the end of March. Colby and I love to fly fish, camp, play softball, golf (mostly Colby), grill good food, play cornhole, and overall have a fantastic time. I have heard so many wonderful things about UME over the past year, and I am stoked to be a part of your team! GO EAGLES!
I am a Colorado native and moved to Wyoming in 2012. I am excited to work at UME and be part of such a positive place! I conducted my social work internship in 2017/2018 here, so some of you may recognize me. I have family in the area, to include my son who just turned 18. He's a senior this year. My family loves to hunt, fish, and be outdoors. I also enjoy snowshoeing and hiking. I love art, to include watercolor and sketching. We have two cats and about to get our first dog in a couple of weeks (a Shiba Inu).
I love social work and helping people. I am looking forward to serving our UME students and families. I have a variety of experience in the mental health field, along with previous work history in law enforcement and the military. I am eager to learn from all of you and be part of a team!
P.S. I am terrible with names!

Hey! My name is Taylor Limoges and I will be the new Learning Lab teacher at UME! My family has always been heavily involved in music and athletics. I participated in volleyball, basketball, and track and I played the French Horn and trumpet in various music groups. I graduated from Lyman High School and played volleyball at Eastern Wyoming before transferring to Chadron State College to finish my teaching degree. I love camping, fishing, hiking, rafting, quilting, and watching football with my family.
I’m very excited to start my career at UME and to get the chance to work with a fantastic support group and staff.
Hey there, everyone!
I’m excited to be joining the Kindergarten team here at Uinta Meadows. Go Eagles!
I’m coming back to the public school setting after about eight years of teaching preschool in my home. It has been so fun getting to know many Evanston families through this outlet and I will miss that fun phase of life for sure!
Prior to teaching preschool here in Wyoming, I have had over twelve years cumulative experience with preschool, kindergarten and first grade in both private and public settings in Utah and Arizona.
My husband and I grew up in St George, Utah, completed our bachelor degrees at SUU, married, and began our family there, too. Although we love the desert life, we’ve grown to appreciate the benefits of small-town mountain life with awesome opportunities for our kids. We have four boys, ages nineteen, seventeen, ten and six.
We are all very excited about my new opportunity to serve the youngest children here at UME and look forward to the BEST YEAR EVER learning and growing together.
Hello! I am Michelle Rex and I have lived in Evanston for many years while being raised and raising my family. My three daughters are all grown up now and on their own adventures in life, so I thought I would try my hand at teaching. This will be my 14th year working for Uinta County School District #1 and my first year as a certified teacher. I am the new K/1 resource teacher. I look forward to this wonderful opportunity to work with students, parents, and my fellow co-workers in this capacity. I am very excited that I am able to remain at Uinta Meadows since I have been working here since 2009 and was previously a student here myself. It’s gonna be an amazing year! Go Eagles!!
Hello! I am Robin Walton and I will be joining the 3rd grade team at UME this year! I am the wife to my best friend, Dave, and mother to three great young people, Garrett, Hannah, and Colter. Hi, my name is Mike Crichton. I’m an aide at UME.
Prior to moving to Wyoming, I was a cop in southern California for thirty years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education so after retiring from law enforcement, I taught elementary and middle school in California. It was the kiddos who started to call me ‘Mr. C’ rather than trying to pronounce my last name.
Since 2014 I have been a paraprofessional and substitute teacher at UME. Last year I took a year off. I am very glad to be back! This year I will be assisting Mrs. Seale with math and the WIN groups.
Hello! My name is Michaela Dawson and I am joining the UME team as a paraprofessional in Lonna Holt’s Fifth Grade Class as well as working with Kindergarteners and First Graders on establishing art skills.
I’m originally from Evanston and graduated from EHS in 2014. I am excited to be back home and closer to my family after having been away for a few years. I graduated from the University of Wyoming this past May with a Bachelor’s in Geography and Natural Resource Management. While going to University I worked in an after-school program with Big Brothers Big Sisters and realized just how rewarding and fun working with kids can be.
Along with teaching children; I enjoy spending time with family, reading, backpacking, hiking, and traveling. This new opportunity is exciting and I look forward to the start of a new school year!
Hi! My name is Jenna Gauger and I am so excited to be working as a paraprofessional in Mrs. Gomez's 5th grade classroom. My family moved to Evanston last year and have enjoyed getting to know everyone in our community. My husband, Chris, is the district mental health coordinator for Uinta County School District #6 and we have twin boys that will be starting 6th grade at Davis Middle School, a daughter in 4th grade and another son in 2nd grade, both at UME. I spent time last year as a substitute for the district and am happy to be working in an Elementary school where there is such a fun and positive energy. We love to spend time as a family in the great outdoors, almost as much as we love to watch and play sports. I am looking forward to a fantastic year as a UME Eagle!

I graduated cosmetology school almost 2 years ago and work at L.A. Hairport doing hair and nails after ”work”. I enjoy being outside, so I love the summertime! I love watching football, and running.
My husband Kipp works at Union Tank. He is the lead man for the maintenance department. He loves golf and spends all his free time at the golf course.
